What are Pokemon?

Pokemon are magical creatures from another planet, similar to ours. They are friendly, loyal and trustworthy. Pokemon and humans have lived and worked together since the dawn of time.

Humans have Pokemon as friends and pets but also catch them and train them, by battling other trainers. There are also specific places for trainers and their Pokemon to battle, called Gyms. If a trainer wins the Gym Leader they earn a badge. When a trainer collects 8 badges they can go and battle at the leagues across the world. If they win at a league and win then catch every known Pokemon, they are declared a Pokemon Master. This is a dream for many but none more than Ash Ketchum.
